Why 'Post Contemporary Art'?
Well, I have to call it something.
Now, an abbreviated art history course, to explain where I am at.
Prior to the last quarter of the 19th Century,
art was mostly representational and was of
the real world. The main criterion for judging that ilk was
realism, craftsmanship and beauty.
Then for the entire 20th Century, art was mostly abstract and was
about something, i.e. social or political issues,
dreams, etc. This was called modern art or contemporary art. The
main criterion for judging that ilk was
originality and content or statement. Unfortunately, it was decided that
the more powerful the statement, the better
the art. Since it is much easier to create a powerful statement
about domestic violence than it is
about domestic
tranquility, most contemporary art was and is extremely negative.
Last, but not least, there is non-objective art (which is what I do). This
type of art is not of anything or
about
anything. It just is. An example
of three dimensional non-objective art is a Dale Chihuly hand-blown glass
sculpture. The criterion for judging this ilk has not yet been established by
the critics, but it will be different from either of the above. Also, this
is the type of art that has been the least explored and will probably dominate
the art
scene soon. So, I create non-objective post contemporary art.
What I personally believe, is that the purpose of the visual arts is to enrich
the soul. In my opinion, if a painting
makes you feel good it is worthwhile. If not, well, just don't buy it,
unless, of course, you happen to be a
masochist or an investor.

In case you are wondering, all of my paintings are for sale.
Since they are digital, I can print on any media
and make them any size, from business cards to 8 X 50 feet. Therefore I
can accommodate any budget. So
if you wish you could have some of my art, guess what? You can.
Actually, since you can have the size of your
choice, and each digital painting will be created especially for you, the
finished work of art will be "one-of -a-kind",
and not just one of a large addition.
